GS 3001: "Internship and 找工作 Strategies"

This course assists students in preparing to find an internship or post-graduation job. 学生 will identify and learn to articulate their calling, 优势和技能, 探索职业选择, and prepare to market themselves successfully. 学生 will learn to network, write a powerful résumé and cover letter, create an effective LinkedIn profile, search for a job or internship and prepare for interviews.

GS 1004-4004: "Online Field Guide Classes"

At SPU, we believe every student has a unique and special role to play in the world. 被称为! An Online Field Guide (OFG), is the student's companion as they chart a path through college and into the world of work. We teach 4 one-credit courses to guide students through this process:

• GS 1004: "Explore Career Options"

  This introductory EXPLORE class (the first in a series of four online classes), allows students to explore SPU, 信仰社区, connections with professors, 他们的使命感 & values, and most importantly, what makes them tick. 学生 will gain a better understanding of themselves and what interests them in a workplace, plus create a professional resume.

• GS 2004: "Discover Your 调用"

  This DISCERN class (the second in a series of four online classes), gives students a chance to learn spiritual practices, better understand their choice of major, learn how to correspond like a professional, practice informational interviews, plus consider Sabbath and building community. They will also create an updated resume and a LinkedIn profile.

• GS 3004: "Prepare for Life After College"

  In this PREPARE class (the third in a series of four online classes), students will prepare for internship/work/experiential learning, consider more ideas about calling, 绘制他们的决策图, 了解导师, gain experience and attend career events where they will meet employers in person. 学生 will also create an updated resume and updated professional networking profile.

• GS 4004: "Launch Into Your Next Steps"

  This LAUNCH class (the final in a series of four online classes) prepares students for their final year at SPU, offering an opportunity for reflection and reassessment. 学生 will learn effective job search strategies, and also create an updated resume and an updated professional networking profile.

GS 2000/4000: “Finding Your Vocation”

This seminar-style class helps you address important questions about who you are and how you sense God’s call on your life. You will come to know yourself better and learn to make good decisions by listening to what gives your life a deep sense of meaning and purpose. You will learn and practice methods that will help you make prayerful decisions in everyday life both now and in the future.

GS 2001:“生活设计”

Using life design techniques developed at Stanford, this class helps you apply design thinking to the big questions of choosing a major and career. You'll start by deepening your understanding of who you are at this point in life and who you want to become—personally and professionally. 然后, you'll explore three possible futures that align with who you are, and test drive them in the real world. You'll grow your professional community through in-class and individual informational interviews, and finally create an action plan for continuing your life and career design process into the future.
